Ryan is a certified personal trainer and life coach who uses his relatability, humor, knowledge of the body and spiritual connection to create transformational experiences in his fitness classes and retreats, as well as in one-on-one sessions.
Ryan has created a new paradigm for how the body, mind and spirit can work together harmoniously to transform his clients' lives and their purpose. His mission is to uplift the spirit by strengthening the body, improving wellness and stilling the mind.
Using his intuitive nature, Ryan aligns his clients to their fullest expression of health and life's potential, meeting each of them where they are in their journey of self-discovery.
Ryan's work can be experienced through his San Francisco based small group training class called Lifted, his Lifted Escapes fitness retreats and Lifted Coaching, his life coaching sessions. He has been featured in 7x7 Magazine and GOOP. In 2016 Well + Good listed Lifted as one of the coolest new studios in the US.
Mind-body Connection. Strength Training. Individual Attention. Perfected Form. LIFTED was created with these four tenets in mind to create an environment of balanced strength, wellness and fun.
Lifted is a small enough group that each exercise can be tailored to the individual to create more challenge or less. Having some basic experience with exercise is a good idea but, yes, in most cases everyone is welcomed!
In meditation there is nothing to do. We get so caught up in 'doing' that we rarely let ourselves just be. When we are able to separate ourselves from our constant thoughts, we are able to tap into our authentic selves, our intuition and to generally feel grounded. Lifted incorporates this practice because it is proven to be healthy and complements strength training to create balance.
Absolutely! Of course, you will get the most out of making this a regular practice. Come check out a class to see if you feel Lifted afterwards. Due to the small size of each class, reservations are required.

Taking a Lifted class is like hitting 'reset' on my mental and physical state. Ryan's dedication to form and the small class size, means everyone gets individual attention, from body adjustments to ensuring each person is challenged according to his or her strength and skill. Plus, the music is fun and the participants fuel a strong positive vibe with none of the testosterone-fueled chest beating of other group exercise classes I've taken. I've seen my body transform in ways I did not think possible, so I know this program works.
I've taken a few months of small group classes at Lifted and I just LOVE them. I really love the approach taken to the schedule of each class. I attend evening classes so it's great to start off with a meditation style decompression of your day, preparing yourself to be in the moment and fully aware of your body before you start using it. Following this is any variety of challenging strength training exercises using body weight and kettle bells moving pretty quickly. It's definitely challenging and a lot of fun, particularly with the great music that Ryan plays! Closing your session you have a legitimate meditation session which is unbelievably therapeutic and really leaves you feeling accomplished and in great spirits.
I can't say enough good things about Lifted, in fact, I often sit around thinking about it and chatting with my friends about just how much I LOVE going. I tried out a class on recommendation, and walked out feeling more connected to myself and my body than I had in years. Lifted challenges you right to your limits, but in a fun, positive, and supportive environment. While you push yourself to some great music, Ryan walks around the studio coaching and encouraging. His attention to form includes the smallest detail, like position of wrist or slight tweak of the arches of your foot, and I don't know how he sees it all! The meditation at the end of class is magic, and has internal benefit that carry the Lifted class well beyond the 1.5 hours, and well beyond what I get from just a regular workout.
Lifted combines guided meditation with challenging strength training exercises for a complete, 90-minute mind and body workout. Six-pack abs and a chiseled mind? Sign us up.
Trainer Ryan Allen wanted a small group structure—each class has seven students, max—that empowers people to use the clarity they achieve after their workout in their lives outside of the studio.
